October is in full swing, the days are getting shorter, and the leaves are changing colour, meaning Halloween is almost upon us. Nowadays, Halloween is more than just one night of the year, and there’s a full calendar of haunting events in Gloucester to get you into the spirit.

Gloucester Zombie Walk

The annual Gloucester Zombie Walk will be bringing hordes of the living dead back to the city on Saturday 27th October, all in aid of the Sue Ryder Leckhampton Court Hospice.

Get practising your best zombie moan and meet at Café Rene in Gloucester where the walk will begin at 3pm, all for a good cause.

Hocus Pocus in an Outdoor Cinema at Gloucester

The classic family Halloween film “Hocus Pocus” is 25 years old in 2018, and what better way to celebrate than watching it at an outdoor cinema? The film, starring Bette Midler and Sarah Jessica Parker, is a cult classic amongst Halloween fans for its quirky style and perfect blend of spookiness and comedy.

Whether you’ve never seen it, or you’ve seen it hundreds of times and can recite the entire script, this will be a one of a kind viewing. You can catch the showing on Sunday 28th October at Hempsted car boot market in Gloucester.

Frightmare at Over Farm

Five attractions, daring performers and a seriously creepy clown are waiting to scare the living daylights out of you at Frightmare.

The event has been going for 16 years now, and it’s safe to say this year is the scariest yet. No worries though, there’s a great choice of comfort food and a fully licensed bar to calm your nerves afterwards.

Gloucester Ghost Walks

If you are doubtful of the existence of supernatural spirits and ghosts, why not put that belief to the test on a Gloucester Ghost Walk?

Starting in the city centre, there are three different routes to choose from, led by experts in all things paranormal. Each walk stops at some of Gloucester’s most haunted places, and you will hear the stories behind the ghostly happenings of the city.

Night at the National Waterways Museum

The National Waterways Museum in Gloucester is a bright and welcoming place during the daytime. But for two nights on Friday 26th and Saturday 27th October it becomes the perfect setting for a spooky tour.

Hear stories about the events that have happened in the museum in it’s almost 150-year long history. Some are fact, some are fiction, it’s up for you to decide which to believe.

Murder Mystery Dinner Party at Mercure Gloucester

For an evening of higher-class Halloween fun, the Mercure Gloucester Bowden Hall Hotel are hosting a dinner party with a twist.

Before tucking into your delicious three course meal, you’ll be challenged to channel your inner Sherlock Holmes to solve a murder mystery case. You’ll need to book your place at the event, which is on Friday 26th October.
