Minimalistic summer make-up

Okay, so we’ve done all the heavy set make up for winter. The thick eyeliner and the bright red lips. We’ve been there and done that, right? I feel it’s time to take a step back this summer and enjoy the naturalistic make-up that is making girls look so wonderfully stunning lately. My main inspiration for this article is the beautiful Miley Cyrus.
How gorgeous is she looking at the moment? Her main make up source is highlighter, which is always popping. Highlighter is a beautiful (and cheap) make-up that is placed on the tops of your cheek bones to highlight them – it does what it says on the tin.
Stunning and minimalistic
Women, in my opinion, have become obsessed with highlighter and I can see why. It’s stunning and so minimalistic if used lightly (something that I struggle with because I get overexcited when applying it).
Lighter shades of pinks used on the lips and as blush is something that will be increasingly popular this summer, as it’s such a simplistic and easy style. It matches the light make-up look and will give you a stunning outcome.
If you’re anything like me, you’ll want to look like Miley Cyrus in her new music video and here is how you can do it:
1. Skincare
Develop a good skincare routine – the healthier the skin, the easier it is to apply a little make-up, which is what we’re trying to achieve with this look.
2. Eyebrows
Shape your eyebrows – a good set of eyebrows can help frame your face, make you look more youthful, soften facial features and bring out your eyes.
3. Diet
Having a healthy diet can have a really positive impact on your skin. Antioxidants in fruit and vegetables can help to reduce the appearance of wrinkles, whilst healthy fats in fish can hydrate the skin.
4. Tinted moisturiser
Tinted moisturisers allow you to get away with wearing little to no make-up, and also make your skin glow, adding a bit of cover up if needed.
5. Mascara
Use a touch of mascara but nothing too heavy. We want to achieve a minimalistic, light and natural look.
7. Highlighter
Don’t forget to pick yourself up a highlighter – a simple item that can give your face that summer glow you’ve always wanted. It was the best decision I’ve ever made and mine cost me only £3.Other Images
