Trainers
Trainers have now become a staple and fashionable part of everyone’s closet – great for comfort and style. The choice you will find is huge. From florals to lace designs, sparkly, leather, and even jewel-encrusted – a far cry from the old lace up trainers used for exercise. A-listers are even wearing them with their evening attire! So whenever or wherever you choose to wear them, you will be bang on trend this spring and summer.

Kitten Heels
If you kept your old ones, well done, as frankly it is hard to distinguish from the latest crop of kitten heels. For many of us kittens heels are a comfortable height, as opposed to the killer heels some ladies can survive in, and you can choose from sumptuous luxe styles with prices to match, or choose a pair far more reasonably priced. Stripes, bold colours and every conceivable fabric can be found to match your trousers, dresses or jumpsuits – a style that really goes with anything.

Ripped Jeans
Ripped jeans, or as the fashion brigade like to call them “distressed jeans”, are all the rage nowadays. I get distressed when I see the prices, which are often higher than your regular jeans (I prefer to call them rip off jeans)! If, however, you remember them from years ago or are of the younger generation that is dying to try this new trend, you will see them in all the high street shops. One designer, who I will not name, is actually selling a ripped and crystal encrusted pair for men for over £4,000. Nice work if you can get it!

Palazzo Trousers
If ripped jeans are not for you, palazzo trousers are having a comeback – not that they ever truly went away. They can be very flattering as long as they are not too wide and flared, and you need to be quite tall to get away with the really voluminous ones. They are always a useful item for holidays, as they can easily be worn in the day, then enhanced with a dressy top for the evening.

Oriental Prints
Lavish oriental prints are proving extremely popular and can be seen on dresses, tops, jumpers and numerous kimono styles. Trousers in dressy satin material with an oriental print can look very dressy in the evening, but may be a little too much for the daytime. We have managed to put the ‘pyjama look’ for going out away; sadly you will now see housecoats for going out – many of which have this popular oriental design. I leave this to your own personal taste. I, however, would not invest very much in this look, as I do not think it will last long. On the other hand, an oriental designed bag can be a great, easy look for any ensemble and is likely to stick around in the long-term.

Punk Look
This look features on many of the catwalk shows for summer and autumn, with studs, spikes, chain mail and lots of punk style accessories. Less is perhaps more here, unless you really want to achieve the heavy metal look. There is a huge selection of punk rock tee shirts, which can be paired with shorts, jeans or hippy skirts. Younger readers might find this a fun new look and will enjoy experi-menting to get it just right.

As I always emphasize, fashion is for fun so enjoy it!
