God save our gracious Queen, long live our noble Queen… and long live British fashion! The Royal Wedding is upon us and marks another momentous occasion in our history, which gives the perfect excuse to celebrate all things British – or at least all of the things we’re typically known for.

A major player in the style stakes for decades
From a monarch who knows how to match her accessories, and the bright lights of London, to a good cup of tea and a stiff upper lip, iconic British fashion has been a major player in the style stakes for decades and will continue to reign for decades to come.

In order to be British, one must be bold! Not a country to shy away from a fashion risqué, British fashion has certainly been standout through the eras. Whether that be the flick of a flapper dress, the flair of, well, the flares or pop star platforms, we have recreated trends with stylishness and originality. Given the country will soon be a buzz of patriotism and more marriage merchandise than even Buckingham Palace could hold, it only seems fit that this month’s fashion focus be on the statement pieces you need to invest in to keep tradition going.

Think Kate Moss circa 1997 at a London Fashion Week press call in her iconic jumper, or Geri Halliwell the same year performing at the Brit Awards in that union flag dress. The Knightsbridge Blazer in red from Holland Cooper might be more of a payday purchase at £399, but it doesn’t get bolder than that. Its striking and polished tailoring is even lined with the union jack flag – patriotism at its finest.

As always, attention is in the detail and must be paid accordingly. Inject that bold blue into your outfit with the Suffolk Fedora in navy from Hicks & Brown. At £89 its classic feather and minimal fuss is perfectly patriotic in a subtle, stylish way.

As it is a Royal wedding after all, nothing says crown jewels like your own sparkler. Find an accessory that is small, but lacks no less shine like the Aqua Topaz Cocktail Ring from up and coming jewellery brand Emily Mortimer. At £350 these gemstones will make you feel like you’re having a Royal wedding of your own!

Push the boundaries of iconic British fashion
If something simpler is more your taste, stack up their Halcyon Blue Topaz Band Ring with multiple rings for a subtle statement, or wear on its own. Either way, at £75 it’ll certainly be admired!

However you choose to dress up your patriotism for the Royal Wedding this month, remember to push the boundaries of iconic British fashion as we have always done. And most importantly, be bold and be British.
