Two goals in the final few minutes – the second with virtually the last kick of the game – condemned high-flying Frampton United to a shock 2-1 defeat at home to struggling AEK Boco in the County League.

It was only their second win of the campaign and the defeat leaves second-placed Frampton four points adrift of Lebeq United, who won 3-1 at Broadwell Amateurs.

Frampton and Boco huffed and puffed in a game of few chances.

Ryan Vincent saw a shot well saved by Boco keeper Liam Jacques on 27 minutes and Jacques again saved from Vincent in the 63rd minute, but the rebound should have been put away by Sean Lawson.

And it wasn’t until the 85th minute that the deadlock was broken when a Nathan Dennis free-kick went under the Boco wall and into the corner.

Four minutes later Boco were level courtesy of a brilliant overhead kick from Jacob Saunders, and in the 95th minute they grabbed the winner when Cash Vinall turned in the box and smashed the ball home.

Bottom-of-the-table Gala Wilton slumped to a 5-1 defeat at Patchway Town, although Gala gave as good as they got in the opening 45 minutes. Dean Creed hit a curling free-kick past the far post and Dan Knight had home keeper Sam Burgess diving full length to divert the ball away.

However, two goals by Dan Bendall ensured the home side were in front at the break, although Gala went close to cutting the deficit at the start of the second half when a goal-bound shot from Marc Edwards was cleared off the line by Dave Talbot.

And at the other end Luke Garbacz soon made it 3-0 when he drove home from 14 yards, although Gala were really unlucky in the 63rd minute when Jon Clay saw his header fly past the helpless Burgess only for it to hit a post and bounce back into the keeper’s arms.

Gala finally got some reward for their efforts three minutes later following a great move down the left, which ended with a cross that was neatly flicked past Burgess by Billy Winter.

That was as good as it got for Gala, however, as Patchway added further goals through Dan Rees and Bendall, who completed his hat-trick two minutes from time.

Other results: Rockleaze R 2 Hanham Ath 1; Ruardean Hill Rangers v Southmead CS Athletic, abandoned; Hardwicke v Henbury, post; Stonehouse Town v Wick, post.
