Ten teams will compete in the Cirencester Football League in 2019/20.

It was confirmed at the league’s AGM earlier this week that Chesterton and Sherborne Harriers have withdrawn from the league.

Chesterton, who finished second to Fratellos last season, will play in Division Two of the Stroud League.

Each team will play each other twice in the Cirencester League with the campaign getting under way on the first Saturday in September.

“We will also run two Charities Cup competitions,” said Cirencester League chairman Phil Coleman, “a Senior Charities Cup and the Mills Roberts Cup.”

The Mills Roberts Cup is named after two former Cirencester League secretaries and last season the two competitions raised well over £1,000 for charity.

“We gave £525 to each of our two charities – Cirencester Hospital League of Friends and Macmillan Cancer,” added Coleman, who confirmed that those two charities will again be the beneficiaries this season.

Coleman also confirmed that he will be continuing as chairman but said the league were looking for a new secretary. Anyone interested in the role should contact Coleman on 07825 537904.

The 10 teams competing in the Cirencester League in 2019/20 are: South Cerney, Stratton United, Intel, Fratellos, Siddington, Kingshill, Hatherop, Pulton, Minety and Lechlade.
