Cheltenham’s promenade will be home to the first Gloucestershire Asian Food Festival this weekend.

The free to attend event will be hosted by Global UK Asia, and director Josephine Laurence says it will be the perfect opportunity to experience new aspects of Asian culture.

She said: “Participating in cultural events is a good exposure for people to broaden their perspectives and gain more knowledge of the world which result in the acceptance and tolerance of other culture.”

The festival will run from 11am to 6pm on both Saturday 9th and Sunday 10th November, and will feature all types of Asian cuisine including Malaysian, Indonesian, Chinese, Thai, Indian and more.

There will also be traditional performances and stalls selling crafts and providing henna services.

Josephine added: “This event aims to preserve the Asian culture and heritage by making it accessible to a wider audience, which results in the appreciation and inspiration to further explore the Asian culture.”
