Gloucestershire's Wycliffe Prep School pupils visited Marshfield Farm in the Cotswolds to present their ideas for a new Christmas ice cream flavour
Gloucestershire pupils have come up with a new ice cream flavour especially for Christmas.
Youngsters from Wycliffe Prep School in Stroud, visited Marshfield Farm in the Cotswolds to share their seasonal twist on a Christmas special.
Inspired by the format of The Apprentice, students got their commercial thinking caps on, exploring every stage of product development, from flavour creation and branding to marketing and identifying a target audience.
Wycliffe Prep teacher, Amy Penney, said: "Pupils have shown enormous creativity, confidence, and teamwork throughout the process, and we are incredibly proud of the professionalism of their final presentations."
Jessica Atkinson, Head of Marketing at Marshfield Farm Ice Cream, said: "We've been welcoming schools to the farm for over 20 years now, and it still makes our day.
"When pupils visit, they don't just learn about ice cream, they see regenerative farming in action, understand why healthy soil and happy animals matter, and get to meet the herd face to face.
"If a morning here helps them understand a little more about where their food really comes from, that's the best possible outcome for us.
"And every visit means a great deal to us, because 100% of the money paid by schools goes directly to Jamie's Farm, a charity doing brilliant work with young people.
"As for the flavour ideas, only children can think quite like that, and we loved every single one. We're reviewing them all, and we genuinely hope at least one might make it into the range one day."
