Joe Moore plundered an unbeaten 131 from only 89 balls for St Stephens who went on to defeat Apperley 2nds by 119 runs and complete only their second win of the season in Division Five of the Bank House Gloucestershire County League.

Going in at five, Moore smashed 17 fours and five sixes to help his side pile up 273-6 from their 45 overs.

And he still had enough energy left to open the bowling and claim a caught-and-bowled en route to fine figures of 1-31 from nine.

Saints’ bowling star was Cain Thomas (5-25, also from nine) as Apperley’s reply faded to 154 all out.

Opener Jeremy Kirby top-scored on 80 in leaders Langford’s 168-run success over Tewkesbury 2nds while it was much closer at second-placed Minchinhampton who squeezed out a low-scoring 10-run home success against Kings Stanley.

Jon Ablett (31) top scored in a Minchinhampton total of 134, Keith Atkinson capturing 3-10. But it proved to be just enough as John Turton (3-22) and Benoy Ittyavirah (3-17) both struck to restrict the visitors to 124-9.

Sheepscombe, meanwhile, romped to 298-9 away to Painswick 2nds thanks mainly to Jesse Carrington’s 139 which set up a 29-run success.

One of the innings of the day came in Division Four at second-placed Hawkesbury Upton where opener George Bailey plundered an unbeaten 175.

His efforts helped his side reach 333-5 against Fairford whose brave reply of 282-7 featured 116 from Will Bowers.

Mark Fuller’s 145 set up leaders Witcombe’s 88-run victory against Lechlade 2nds while Aston Ingham are up to third following an 81-run triumph away to Cheltenham Civil Service 2nds, Jake Provan top-scoring on 65.

In Division Three, captain Keith Knight’s 106 at the top of the order guided leaders Shurdington to a seven-wicket triumph at home to Slaughters United after Jack Styman had struck with super figures of 7-48.

Tom Radcliffe hit 75 and Andy Ruxton finished with 5-23 in Woodpeckers’ 125-run trumping of Newent, and Raja Shahbaz (4-30 from six) shone in Ullenwood Bharat’s 33-run home win against Rockhampton 2nds.

Division Two leaders Cam made light work of Chipping Sodbury 2nds, romping in by nine wickets with George Dolling capturing 4-40 while Poulton are up to second thanks to a seven-wicket success against Cinderford St John which included Scott Meredith’s 54.

Opener James Westhead hit 84 in vain for Tetbury in a five-wicket reverse against Oldlands while half-centuries from Josh Riggs and skipper James Tunnicliffe helped Thornbury 2nds to a six-wicket victory away to high-flying Hatherley and Reddings 2nds.

Opener Dan Anderson produced an unbeaten 103 to take Division One leaders Westbury-on-Severn to a six-wicket home win against Cranham, and second-placed Lydney kept the pressure on with a five-wicket triumph away to Woodmancote, Slater Asnicar unbeaten on 73.
