Gloucestershire County Cricket Club have announced that wicketkeeper/batsman Phil Mustard has left the club by mutual agreement.

Mustard, 35, came to Gloucestershire on loan from Durham for the latter part of the 2016 season and signed for Gloucestershire at the end of that season.

He was a regular player for Gloucestershire throughout 2017, taking on the captaincy for part of that time.

The former England one-day international and T20 international said: “I would like to thank everyone at Gloucestershire for the opportunity to represent the club in 2016 and 2017.

“It has been an honour and something I have greatly enjoyed however both parties feel now is the right time to move in a different direction.

“I am now looking forward to my next challenge on the field with great excitement.”
