Assistant Manager Scott Lindsey departs Forest Green Rovers to find role closer to home

Forest Green Rovers have confirmed that assistant manager Scott Lindsey is leaving the club by mutual consent.

During three seasons as part of Mark Cooper’s management team, Lindsey helped lead Forest Green into the Football League for the first time in the 2017/18 season, and then narrowly missing out on promotion through the play-offs in the last season and has been a popular figure with players and fans alike.

“I would like to thank the chairman for the opportunity to work at this fantastic football club – the players and staff have been brilliant and going from non-league to the brink of League One is an achievement I’m very proud of,” said Lindsey. “I’d also like to thank the fans for their unbelievable support.

“Now it’s time for me to be with my family in Kent. I wish the club nothing but success in the future.”

Chairman Dale Vince added: “I’d like to thank Scott, personally and on behalf of whole the club, for his contribution in the last three years, we all wish him the very best in his next role."
