Second played third in the County League on Saturday with second-placed Frampton United winning 2-1 at Stonehouse Town.

Frampton went ahead on 14 minutes when Josh Beadle picked up a loose ball in the box and smashed it home.

Beadle had another great chance a few minutes later but home keeper Will Pedrick pulled off a great save, while at the other end Humphries had a good chance but shot wide.

Striker Ryan Vincent went close for the visitors just before half time and at the start of the second half Luke Soule’s shot was just wide and Adam Philp should have scored but shot wide.

With Frampton pushing hard for a second goal Daniel Stephens made two great stops on the line for Stonehouse.

However, United increased their lead on 66 minutes when Ryan Vincent and Joe Wilton played a one-two before Wilton netted.

Stonehouse kept going and they pulled a goal back just before the end when Tom Palmer smashed a loose ball into the corner of the net.

Just after that Adam Philp was sent off for the home side and they ended the game with nine men when Adam Ireland also saw red.

The win leaves Frampton eight points behind Lebeq United and seven points ahead of Stonehouse although Stonehouse have three games in hand on the top two.

Hardwicke were beaten in a seven-goal thriller at Little Stoke despite making a flying start.

Hardwicke took the lead on 10 minutes when Will Higgins got on the end of a low cross into the box.

Just five minutes later it was 2-0 to the visitors when Higgins crossed to the far post where the unmarked Kieran Bryce-Ingles was waiting to tap the ball in.

A minute before the break Stoke made it 2-1 from a brilliantly struck free-kick from Jordan Yeo on the edge of the box. A minute into the second period it was 2-2 when Russ Church’s cross was headed in by Luke Meacham.

The home side then found themselves in front on 55 minutes when Jordan Yeo scored his second goal from a free-kick.

A 75th minute header from Pat Vernall levelled the scores, but with five minutes to play Stoke grabbed the winner after Nathan Moore sent Kalil Lamir clear down the right. He cut in and struck a great shot that went in off the post.

Gala Wilton slipped to a 2-1 defeat at home to Ruardean Hill Rangers.

After early pressure from Rangers, Skyers pulled off a great save to deny Stuart Cornwell-Boote, pushing the ball around the post.

Gala took the lead on 33 minutes when Dan Creed broke down the right and sent the ball into Marc Edwards who struck a superb 25-yard shot past Underwood in the Rangers goal.

Finlay Kerr missed a great chance to make it 2-0 on 43 minutes and Rangers were on level terms before the break when Luke Brown then crossed the ball into Charlie Mason to score.

Skyers then saved a Luke Brown penalty but was powerless to stop Rangers grabbing the winner on 80 minutes when a Luke Brown cross into the box was tapped in by Shaun Tingle.

Other scores: Hanham Ath 3 Broadwell Ams 1; Patchway T 0 Henbury 0; Rockleaze R 1 AEK Boco 4; Wick 4 Southmead CS Ath 2.
