Brockworth Albion Reserves are through to the last four of the Senior Charity Cup Brockworth Albion Reserves are through to the last four of the Senior Charity Cup

There was excitement aplenty in the two Cheltenham League Senior Charity Cup quarter-finals on Saturday with both games going to penalty shootouts.

And the drama was at its highest at Tewkesbury Town where the home side won 9-8 in a sudden death penalty shootout at the expense of Upton Town after the game had finished 1-1.

At Kings, Brockworth Albion Reserves went through 4-2 on penalties after the match had finished 2-2.

Meanwhile, Andoversford kept their noses in front in the race for the Division One title. They won 1-0 at Bishop’s Cleeve A thanks to a first-half goal by Ashley Cleal.

Cheltenham Civil Service Reserves remain right on their heels, however, after defeating Fintan 5-1.

AFC Renegades will be playing in the top-flight next season after clinching the Division two title with a 3-1 win at Shurdington Rovers Reserves.

Migual Passaro’s hat-trick and two from Nick Jones kept Malvern Vale on top of Division Three as they defeated Gala Wilton 3rds 7-0.

Their nearest challengers Leckhampton Rovers were made to work much harder for their victory, winning 1-0 at Dowty Dynamos Reserves.

Welland Reserves kept their promotion play-off chances alive with an amazing 13-1 win at Andoversford 3rds while three goals from the in-form Oliver Price helped Southside Star to a 6-1 win at Smiths Athletic Reserves.

FC Lakeside Reserves followed up their Minor Charity Cup triumph on Thursday with a 4-0 win at Bishop’s Cleeve Development and are getting closer to adding the Division Four title to their trophy collection this season.

Cheltenham United, who defeated Pittville United Reserves 2-1, are their closest challengers.

Elsewhere, a hat-trick by Lee Brickley and one from Aaron Brickley earned Woodmancote a 4-2 win over Kempsey Corinthians and kept them in contention for the play-offs.
