Ross Moriarty will leave Gloucester at the end of the season.

A statement released by the club today read: “Forward Ross Moriarty will leave the club at the end of the season.

“A product of the Gloucester Rugby Academy, Ross has developed into an international player during his time at Kingsholm but has now agreed terms elsewhere.

“Gloucester Rugby will be making no further comment on the matter.”

The 23-year-old back row, whose participation on the British Lions tour to New Zealand in the summer was cut short by injury, has played just one game for the Cherry and Whites this season.

The one-time Hartpury College student has been capped 17 times by Wales, and it is his desire to continue playing for his country that has sparked much speculation about his future in recent weeks.

The introduction by the WRU of the new 60-cap policy has made it likely that he will be heading over the Severn Bridge to play his rugby – possibly with Dragons – in 2018/19.
