Prestbury Rovers Reserves made it 14 wins out of 14 in Division Four of the Cheltenham League with a thumping 8-1 win at bottom club Charlton Rovers 3rds.

It takes them back up to second in the table after Malvern Vale FC First were beaten 1-0 at Bishop’s Cleeve Development Reserves, who produced probably their best result of the season.

Prestbury trail Malvern Vale FC Academy by just a point now after the leaders were held to a 3-3 draw at Gala Wilton 3rds. Prestbury have also played five games fewer than the pace-setters.

Elsewhere in the division, Welland Reserves were too strong for Winchcombe Town Reserves, winning 7-2, while Fintan Reserves defeated Andoversford III 1-0.

Up to Division Two where the top two continue to set a pretty hot pace.

Leaders, The Beeches, won 3-1 at lowly Tewkesbury Town Reserves while Cheltenham Civil Service Reserves edged past County Cup finalists Fintan 1-0.

The gap between the top two is six points, but Service have three games in hand.

Third-placed Hanley Swan bounced back to form after their surprise defeat at Prestbury Rovers by beating Pittville United 6-0.

Prestbury, meanwhile, lost out 4-2 to fourth-placed Southside Star.

Just as in Division Two, the top two in Division Three go marching on.

Unbeaten leaders St Paul’s United made it 14 wins from 16 with a 2-1 win at Dowty Dynamos Reserves, while second-placed AFC Renegades kept in touch with an 8-2 win at Cheltenham United.

St Paul’s lead by seven points, but have played one more game and it looks certain that Saturday’s game between the top two – St Paul’s have home advantage – will go a long way to deciding which team will be champions this season.

There were plenty of goals at Leckhampton Reserves where the home side edged out lowly FC Lakeside Reserves by the odd one in seven, but there were only two at FC Barometrics 3rds as they shared the spoils with Charlton Rovers Reserves.

There were two goals also at Brockworth Albion Reserves, but there was a winner in this game as the home side defeated Kings Reserves.

There was only one fixture scheduled in Division One of the Cheltenham League, sponsored by Bristol Street Motors, but Upton Town’s game at home to Whaddon United Reserves fell victim to the weather.
