Four new teams will play in the Cheltenham League next season.

Shurdington Rovers Reserves, Tewkesbury Athletic, Malvern Cave and Kempsey Corinthians will form part of a 49-team strong league that will once again be split over four divisions.

Shurdington’s new team will play in division two while the other three teams will play in division four.

There will be 12 teams in the top flight, 11 in division two and 13 in divisions three and four.

The end-of-season play-offs for the bottom three divisions – for the teams finishing 2nd to 5th – will again be in place in 2018/19 after being introduced for the first time last season.

The charities cup competitions will also be the same as last season. The Senior Cup is for all clubs in the league, the Junior Cup is for teams in divisions one and two, and the Minor Cup is for teams in divisions three and four.

Cheltenham Civil Service, who ran away with the division one title last season, will play in the Northern Senior League.

However, the club will still have a team in the top tier of the Cheltenham League because their reserves won the division two title last time out.

The league, sponsored by Bristol Street Motors Ford Cheltenham, held their annual general meeting on Wednesday when a number of presentations were made.

Graham McNulty was named referee of the year while Elliott Haddrell picked up the young referee of the year award.

Upton Town’s Simon Craddock was voted secretary of the year and the club sportsmanship of the year prize went to Charlton Rovers.
