Hardwicke bounced back from being 3-1 down to defeat Quedgeley Wanderers in a seven-goal thriller in the County League on Saturday.

Hardwicke’s Kieran Tracey went close after seven minutes with his shot skimming just past the post, but two minutes later the visitors took the lead when a poor back pass was picked up by Dorian Colling who hit a powerful shot which goalkeeper Tom Kaye saved, but the rebound fell to Karl James-Bryan to smash into the net.

On 23 minutes Wanderers keeper Nathan Charnock saved well from Tobie Webb and a couple of minutes later saved another effort from Webb with his legs.

Hardwicke got on level terms in the 38th minute when Webb turned in a cross from Tracey.

Jordan Rouse then had a great chance to regain the visitors’ lead but headed over. However, just two minutes later a great pass from full-back Tom Hawker found Dorian Colling who rounded Kaye before slotting the ball home.

A defensive error by the home side on 56 minutes allowed Josh Wilson a clear shot on goal and he made no mistake from 25 yards.

It could have been four three minutes later but for a great save from Kaye to deny Colling.

And the game started to turn Hardwicke’s way in the 75th minute when Will Matthews headed in Tracy’s cross. Hardwicke were awarded a penalty on 80 minutes which was taken by Matthews. His initial shot was saved but he was on hand to tuck in the rebound.

The winner came right on 90 minutes when Matthews was brought down in the box for a second penalty and this time Richard Mansell drove the spot kick past Charnock.

Four goals in the final 24 minutes spurred leaders Frampton United to a 4-1 win over visiting Gala Wilton after they had trailed at half time.

Ryan Ford got them on level terms when he volleyed home from a Manolo Espada cross and that became 2-1 on 70 minutes when a Steve Jackson shot was parried by Gala keeper Brabham and Ethan Dunbar slipped home the rebound.

On 75 minutes Fin Blythe scored straight from a free-kick and on 86 minutes Steve Jackson turned a couple of defenders in the box to complete the scoring.

Sharpness remain three points behind Frampton in third place – albeit they have played a game more – after a 3-1 victory over Broadwell Amateurs.

Sharpness began brightly and as early as the second minute Tom Frankham blazed over from Will Lacey's cross.

Brad Gibbs then sent in a good cross from the right which was met by Alex Gayner but his header was saved by Ben Reed in the Broadwell goal.

A thunderbolt from Lee Hanson put the visitors ahead but the home side were level in the 36th minute when the ball was played out wide to Alex Gayner who broke into the box and hit a low cross towards the near post and keeper Reed deflected it into his own net.

Sharpness went ahead in the 76th minute after a great passing move on the right saw Dan Gayner play a one two with Brad Gibbs and Gayner’s cross was met by advancing substitute Finn Small who drove it into the bottom corner.

Gayner added his side’s third two minutes from time.

Other results: Bromley Heath Utd 2 Henbury 1; Ruardean Hill R 5 Hanham Ath 1; Wick 2 Little Stoke 0. Les James League Cup: Patchway T 0 AEK Boco 3.
