Jack Robson will again captain Dursley Rugby Club next season.

The back row, who played for Gloucestershire in the County Championship in May, will be leading the charge as the club look to gain promotion from Gloucester One.

He will be working closely with two people who have taken on new roles at the club.

Bradley Winchle has taken over as senior rugby manager and Alan Evans is the new head coach.

Dursley 2nd XV will be captained by Jamie Lord, who replaces Stuart Newman. The 3rd XV will be captained by Ross Reeves, while Katie Thomson will continue to lead the ladies’ team.

It will be a new adventure for Thomson and her team-mates because the women have been accepted to play in the National Challenge 2 Midlands South League next season.

The club blew the final whistle on last season’s campaign with its annual awards evening and fundraising ball.

More than 400 people attended the summer ball and auction, which helped to raise funds for the club’s development.

It rounded off another successful season for the senior teams, with all three men’s teams reaching the finals in their respective Stroud Combination Cup competitions.

The 1st XV retained the Senior Cup with a convincing win over Cirencester.

And there was a special moment for Richard Brooks, who was presented with an award to mark 30 years of playing for Dursley.
