Cheltenham and District Rugby Combination cup finals day kicks off at Newlands at noon

Newlands will be centre stage for a thrilling end-of-season rugby extravaganza on Saturday.

It’s Cheltenham and District Rugby Combination cup finals day and with four clubs represented in three finals there should be fireworks aplenty.

The Senior Cup final will be contested by Cheltenham and Old Patesians 2nds and those two clubs also have teams in another final.

Old Patesians 4ths will take on Smiths 2nds in the Minor Shield final while Cheltenham 2nds face Cheltenham Civil Service in the Junior Cup final.

Cheltenham 2nds won 18-15 at Norton to book their place in the Junior Cup final while Cheltenham Civil Service won 65-0 at Cheltenham Saracens.

The Minor Shield will kick-off at noon, the Junior Cup will get under way at 2pm and the Senior Cup will start at 4pm.

Cheltenham MP Alex Chalk will present the Senior Cup to the winning team; Malcolm Kedward, president of the Cheltenham Combination, will do the honours in the Junior Cup, and the Mayor of Cheltenham, Bernard Fisher, will present the Minor Shield.
