Coney Hill have it all to play for as they chase Twickenham dream in RFU Community Cup

The final of the RFU Community Cup Counties 3 & Below Championship will take place at Twickenham in May
Coney Hill’s supporters are hoping for a grandstand finish to the season.
Their reward for their standout 45-22 win over Woodrush at the Metz Way the end of last month is another home tie in the RFU Community Cup Counties 3 & Below Championship.
They will take on Barton-Under-Needwood, of Counties 3 Midlands West (North), in a quarter-final tie on Saturday 2nd May and head of rugby Ryan Barnett said: “I’m very happy with that, we wanted a home draw, we’ve got to make the most of it.”
Woodrush arrived in Gloucester on the back of winning 11 out of 11 in Counties 3 Midlands West (South) and Barton-Under-Needwood are also enjoying a fine season.
They have won all 14 of their league games, scoring 878 points along the way, but Barnett said: “Woodrush were unbeaten in their league, we were excellent against them, we’ve got to give it everything we’ve got again.”
The winners of the tie will have another home game in the semi-final – they will play the winners of the game between Boston and Bury – and there is certainly all to play for all the teams involved because the final will take place at Twickenham on Saturday 23rd May.
Coney Hill, who were formed in 1947, have never played at the home of English rugby.
“We’ve come close a couple of times,” said Barnett.
Both those occasions were in the semi-finals of the RFU Intermediate Cup. They lost 44-13 at Maidstone in 2015 and then three years later were beaten 20-17 at home by Camberley in a game that went to extra time.
“Hopefully it will be third time lucky, we’re in it with a chance,” said Barnett.
Barnett knows there is plenty of rugby to be played before they can start thinking about a trip to Twickenham but he is hoping the club’s supporters can play their part.
“We had the biggest crowd we’ve had for a long tome against Woodrush,” said Barnett. “They can make a big difference.”
Hucclecote, meanwhile, have been drawn away to Old Georgians in the same competition.
Old Georgians are third in Counties 3 Surrey having won 10 of their 14 league games and the winner of their tie will be at home in the last four against the winners of the Wells versus Bristol Saracens tie.
“It would be amazing if two Gloucester teams just a mile and a half apart played each other at Twickenham,” added Barnett.
