Tewkesbury Allrunners are 'sweet 16' this year
Author: Roger Jackson, Posted: Thursday, 1st January 2026, 09:00
Tewkesbury Allrunners have made a big impact over the past few years.
The all-ladies running club were formed in 2010 and Linda Coxshall, who was a member of the club right at the start, said: “We’re sweet 16 this year!”
The club have 40-plus members but are always on the lookout for more and they are hoping that their beginners’ running course, which starts next week, will attract some new faces.
“It’s a 10-week course, it starts on Tuesday 6th January,” said Coxshall. “It’s a bit like Couch to 5K, we’ve run a course every year.”
Those ladies who want to take part need to meet at Tewkesbury Sea Cadet Hall, just off Oldbury Road, for a 6pm start.
And anyone who goes on to join the club after completing the course will be joining an upwardly mobile set-up.
“We run three or four miles every Tuesday evening,” said Coxshall. “There’s normally about 30 of us.”
Coxshall is a run leader – Kathy Lewis is head coach – and Coxshall continued: “We also go on tour, Friday to Sunday.
“We went to Cardiff last year, we’ve been to Chester and Cambridge, and we’ve been to Barcelona and Palma.”Other Images
