Darts fans will have the chance to see some of the sport’s megastars in action at one of the UK’s top tournaments.

The star-studded line-up for the 2019 Cheltenham Masters Darts Tournament includes world number one Michael van Gerwen, who leads a list of high-profile names heading to Cheltenham Racecourse.

The Dutchman entered the top three in the world in 2014 at the age of just 25, and has remained there ever since, taking the top spot in 2016.

Fans will have the rare opportunity to get up close and personal with the likes of ‘Mighty Mike’ at a fan meet and greet in the Gold Cup Suite before the Centaur descends into what is sure to be a night of thrilling entertainment and electric atmosphere.

Among the other top players stepping up to the oche at the Centaur on Friday 5th April will be The Flying Scotsman Gary Anderson.

The world number four will be looking to add to his trophy cabinet with a win at the home of the world-famous Cheltenham Gold Cup after emerging victorious in the World Matchplay, the Champions League of Darts and the UK Open in recent times.

The rest of the line-up includes 2018 BDO World Championship winner Glen Durrant, veteran player Bobby George, PDC Austrian Darts Open champion Jonny Clayton, The Dutch Destroyer Vincent van der Voort, three-time Women's World Professional Darts Champion Anastasia Dobromyslova, and 2017 Women’s British Open winner Corrine Hammond.

Lee Moulson, regional head of sales at Cheltenham Racecourse, said the event will be one to remember for darts fans.

He said: “We will once again be welcoming some of the world’s most talented players to Cheltenham Racecourse and I’m sure it will be a fantastic night of entertainment.

“We’ve never had any trouble creating an atmosphere at the Centaur and I expect it will be rocking in April.

“I urge all fans to get their tickets early to avoid disappointment and I’m looking forward to a packed arena and a night of exciting darts action.

Places can be reserved in advance from £27.50 for a balcony seat, £38 for a standard ticket, or £68 for VIP access which includes the meet and greet with the stars.

Free parking will be available to all who attend, as well as a cash bar throughout the evening.
