Adrian Williams is elevated to bronze medal position in world duathlon championship

Adrian Williams is a world duathlon championship bronze medallist.

The Cirencester Athletics and Triathlon Club member finished fourth in the 40-44 age group category in Fynn in Denmark but has now been elevated to third after the Spanish competitor, Victor Sanchez Garcia, who crossed the line first, was disqualified for taking performance enhancing drugs.

Williams said: “I’m so happy to have medalled. I was pleased but a little disappointed to have come in fourth.

“It’s such a shame that there are drugs in so many sports.”
