Severn Athletic Club’s successful women’s team at the Gloucester 10K

Severn Athletic Club celebrated a double top at the recent Gloucester 10K.

They won both the men’s and women’s team prizes and also scooped three individual awards too.

“It was a good day,” said Severn AC runner Steve Kenyon, who was part of the successful men’s team. “To win both team events was very pleasing.”

Kenyon played a big part in the men’s team’s success, finishing fifth in 34 minutes, 46 seconds.

He was one place behind clubmate Simon Guilor (34.35) and one place ahead of Jonah Hewtson (34.50).

Andy Monro (38.54) was the fourth member of their winning team - he was first in the V50 category - and Kenyon said: “Jonah joined the club less than a month ago and Simon joined only about six months ago.”

Natalie Cranfield led Severn’s successful women’s team home, going round in 42.09.

Laura Spencer (43.37) and Rebecca Nield (44.07) were the other members of the winning team with Spencer finishing first in the V35 category.

Meanwhile, Severn’s Sheila Foot (56.54) was first in the V65 category.
