Severn Athletic Club runner Archie Fox adds the Cirencester Sizzler to his list of race wins

Archie Fox is in fine form

The in-form Archie Fox has a new addition to his increasingly impressive running CV.

The Severn Athletic Club runner won the Cirencester Sizzler this week, completing the 10K course in 34 minutes, 28 seconds, well clear of the experienced Bill Leggate in second place.

Leggate, who runs for Cirencester Athletics Club, went round in 34.54.

Fox’s win followed his success in the Stroud Beer Run over 7.2 miles at the end of last month and the 32-year-old said: “I was happy with the way it went in Cirencester.

“Breaking 35 minutes was the aim and I was seven seconds quicker than last year.”

He finished third in 2025 and this year was the fourth time he had taken part in the race and the first time he had won it.

“It’s a decent event, always well attended,” he said. “I had a really good year last year and this year is following the same sort of curve.”

Fox is now targeting the Frampton 10K on Monday 22^nd June.

Meanwhile, Bourton Roadrunners’ Steph Lane was the first woman home in the Cirencester Sizzler. She was eighth overall in 36.18.
