One of the great names of National Hunt racing can get day three of this year’s Cheltenham Festival off to a flying start.

So says The Local Answer tipster Mike Edwards who believes the Willie Mullins-trained horse can win the opening race of the day, the Marsh Novices’ Chase tomorrow.

The 11-year-old won the Champion Hurdle back in 2015, just one of many high-profile victories on his CV, and the wins have continued to flow since he has gone chasing, with his success at the Dublin Racing Festival last month taking his record to 17 wins in 25 races, with 11 Grade 1 wins.

Mike Edwards’ Cheltenham Festival day three top tips

1.30 – Faugheen – Legendary 2015 Champion Hurdle winner, 11 Grade 1 victories, now at 11 years old going over fences. Made an impressive start at Leopardstown.

2.10 – The Storyteller – Landed a big gamble at this meeting two years ago, has been laid out for this race, Davy Russell on board.

2.50 – A Plus Tard – Course and distance winner, an impressive Grade 1 winner at Punchestown in December.

3.30 – Paisley Park – Reigning Stayers’ Hurdle Champion, expected to retain his crown. In top form. NAP SELECTION 

4.10 – Oldgrangewood – Course and distance winner here on New Year’s Day, Dan Skelton yard is on a high.

4.50 – Minella Melody – Unbeaten in three runs over hurdles, Rachael Blackmore rides, highly fancied.

5.30 – Deise Aba – Good progressive type, impressive last win at Sandown Park. Will Biddick top point to point jockey a positive.
